Excursion to Listvianka village
 Most Irkutsk visitors start the acquaintance with Baikal from settlement Listvyanka. This is the most popular holiday place at Baikal, it is 70 km from Irkutsk, it is 1 hour’s car ride. The tour around settlement Listvyanka takes about 4 hours or more.
We are going to do the first stop in settlement Listvyanka at the observation area opposite the famous Shaman Stone. The guide will tell you the legend about Baikal and his daughter Angara. We’ll be able to purchase souvenirs, buy and taste Artic Cisco of hot or cold smoking. The observation area is always crowded with people and local trades people.
Then will go to Baikal Museum that will make you acquainted with the history of Lake Baikal studies, its flora and fauna. There are expositions of stuffed birds and animals, samples of bottom sediments and Baikal minerals found during scientific expeditions. During the excursion you will see a film “Planet’s Well” with unique underwater shooting at the maximal depth of Baikal – 1637 m. Various Baikal species live in the aquariums of the museum including seal, Artic cisco, Baikal oilfish.
 After visiting Baikal Museum will go up the cable road to Mount Cherskogo from where a wonderful view to the peaks of Khamar-Daban ridge, settlement Port Baikal, Shaman Stone, the source of the River Angara, Baikal Astrophysical Observatory, and the boundless Siberian taiga open up.
After admiring the most beautiful sights of the lake we’ll go to a local restaurant to have a meal, to taste some dishes from baikal fish and have a rest.
Our excursion will be continued by a walk around settlement Nikola where we’ll visit St. Nicolas Church. The guide will tell a nice legend about the construction of the church, we’ll see wooden houses of local people, enjoy the beautiful creek valley in the settlement and this will be th end of our excursion.
After the excursion you will be able either to stay at one of Listvyanka’s hotels or return to Irkutsk.
