 Shumak mineral springs are situated at the height of 1650 m. above the sea level in the valley of the River Shumak, the East Sayan. Shumak valley of mineral springs is a place difficult of access. You can get to “The Valley of 100 Springs” by several methods:
- 2-3 days walk or by horses from settlement Nilova Pustyn
(70km) for those who loves active rest;
- 1 hour by helicopters Mi-8 and Eurocopter.
During the flight you’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of Tunkinskaya valley, famous with its alpine meadows, the valley of the rivers Irkut, Kitoy, and Shumak, admire a big number of waterfalls and mountain lakes.
During the 4-hour stay in the valley of the River Shumak an experienced guide will make you acquainted with the curative springs and their features, places of interest and legends. In the vicinity of the mineral springs you can have a walking trip to the cascade of waterfalls on Mramorniy brook (the route is about 1 km long).
