Train excursion by Circumbaikal Railway

Excursion to the Round-Baikal Railway is unique as it is done on a comfortable tourist train having 1st and 2nd class carriages.

 

The excursion is possible on certain days: in winter on Saturdays and Sundays and in summer on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and sometimes on Fridays. In winter the excursion is done on a rail bus.

 

 

 

 

 

     

1. On Wednesdays and Saturdays in summer and on Saturdays in winter at 08.15 we depart from Irkutsk Railway Station. The train goes to Sludyanka without stops. At 10.30 from Sludyanka the excursion program with stops and guided tours starts. On arriving to settlement Port Baikal you’ll visit the station building and transfer to a motor ship that will take you to settlement Listvyanka, to Rogatka berth.  You may stay at settlement Port Baikal or at Listvyanka or go by a charter bus to Irkutsk. You will arrive in Irkutsk at about 22.00.

 

2. On Thursdays and Sundays in summer and on Sundays in winter the route is presented mirror-like: in the morning you get on a bus at Irkutsk and at 09.30 go to settlement Listvyanka. At settlement Listvyanka you transfer to a motor ship and go to settlement Port Baikal where are are awaited by the train. At 11.30 the train departs from station Baikal. You`ll arrive in Irkutsk at 21-22.00.

 

During the trip along the Round-Baikal Railway there are several stops lasting from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours. You will have an opportunity to enjoy wonderful sights of Lake Baikal on one side and beautiful landscapes of mountains and woods on the other side. You will be offered a lunch during the tour and during the stops you’ll be able to walk in the forest or on the lake shore.
