Island Olkhon is the biggest and the most beautiful Island at lake Baikal. Peoples often say that lake Baikal is the blue heart of Siberia and island Olkhon is the heart of lake Baikal. During your trip to Olkhon Island you`ll see beautiful landscapes of forests, steppes, mountains, rocks and sand beaches, you`ll admire sunsets, sunrises and know about the life style of buryat peoples who live in this island.

Itinerary: Irkutsk – Listvianka – Island Olkhon – Irkutsk

Day 1: IRKUTSK – LISTVIANKA
Day 2: IRKUTSK – village SAKHURTE – Island OLKHON – village KHUJIR
Breakfast. Departure by local bus to the village Sakhurte from Irkutsk to take a ferry and go to the Olkhon island, 300 km. The trip from Irkutsk to Sakhurte village takes about 4 – 5 hours. Trip from the ferry to the village Khujir at the Olkhon Island takes 40-60 minutes. Arrival at the village Khujir, accommodation at the guest house of Nikita Bencharov. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: village KHUJIR – rock SHAMANKA
After breakfast excursion to the village Khujir with visit to the local Regional museum. Village Khujir is the biggest village of the island located near the famous rock Shamanka. Lunch. Visit by foot to the rock Shamanka – sacred place of buryat people. Leisure at the bay Saraisky. Dinner and overnight at guest house.
Day 4: village KHUJIR – cape KHOBOI
Breakfast. Full day excursion by uazik (russian jeep) to the picturesque place at the northern point of the island – cape Khoboi. The cape Khoboi is located at the most wide space of lake Baikal and looks like a woman`s head. According to the legend this woman is a petrified bouryat who asked the God to give her the same palace as her husband had. But the God decided to punish the woman by transforming her into a rock. Lunch on the way. Trekking to the place Ouzoury. Overnight and dinner at the camp.
Day 5: village LISTVIANKA – village SAKHURTE – IRKUTSK- DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Departure by local bus to Irkutsk. Departure from Irkutsk.
