Novosibirsk excursions
City tour of Novosibirsk, with visit to the Local Lore museum, 4 hours
City tour is very good chance to know Novosibirsk. During excursion you`ll visit the historical part of city, its main sights. The guide will tell you about the history of the city, about its foundation as the future site of the of the Trans-Siberian railway bridge crossing the great Siberian river Ob. You`ll visit Lenin place - main place of Novosibirsk where a very beautiful building of Opera and Ballet Theatre is located, the place of Novosibirsk (Novonikolaevsk) foundation. You`ll see Chapel of Saint Nicolas which marks the center of Russia, the first brick building of the city – the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky, wooden buildings located in the street Gorkogo – the oldest street of the city, the embankment of Ob river. You`ll end the excursion visiting the Local Lore museum which presents history and ethnography, flora and fauna of Novosibirsk region.
Excursion in Akademgorodok, with visit to the museum of Old trains, 5 hours
Akademgorodok is located 30 km south of Novosibirsk, it is a well known scientific town of Russia built in 1958 right in the middle of an age-old forest. Akademgorodok has preserved pinewood and birch coppices which gives it a special atmosphere of peace and serenity. There are 30 different Scientific research institutes among which are the Nuclear Physics Institute, the Organic and Inorganic Chemistry Institute, the Genetics Institute, the Institute of Philosophy and History and many others. You will visit the House of Scientists with a library of over 100 000 volumes of literature from all over the world, the Mineralogical museum with its unique collection of minerals, fauna and flora of Russia. You will also travel to Ob Sea, a man-made reservoir covering the area of 1,070 sq. km, 200 km long, 17 km wide and about 8 meters deep. The reservoir was created in 1950s, with the construction of Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Power Station. On your return way to Novosibirsk you will visit the Open air museum of railroad techniques and trains, which displays the history of the Transiberian Rail Road.
Excursion to Kolivan village, 5 hours
The Kolivan village is located 45 km from Novosibirsk. This excursion will allow you to know about the oldest village at Novosibirsk region. You`ll visit Local Lore museum, Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky and Female Monastery.
