Saint Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia after Moscow. It was founded 302 years ago by Peter the Great.  65 rivers and canals, spanned by 360 bridges, criss-cross the city, located on 42 islands. It is not incidental that St. Petersburg is also called the Venice of the North.
During city tour you`ll see main sights of Saint Petersburg, you`ll know the most important interesting facts of its history. This excursion includes visit to the following monuments: Peter and Paul Fortress, Hermitage (exterior), Saint Isaac`s Cathedral, Medny Vsadnik, Admiralty, residence of Russian Emperiors – Winter Palace. The Peter and Paul Fortress - the first construction in St.-Petersburg, it had been founded by Peter I in 1703. It takes the central place in an architectural composition of Saint Petersburg. Located on its territory high bell tower is one of the main sights of northern capital. Excursion allows you to know the old fortress constructions, to explore museum in the Trubetskoy bastion prison, museum of astronautics and rocket production, to visit the Peter and Paul Cathedral with Romanov`s family tomb and other Russian tsars.

Excursion to the Hermitage Museum, 2 hours
 
The State Hermitage Museum is among the top four Art museums of the world. It occupies six magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right in the heart of St Petersburg. The leading role in this unique architectural ensemble is played by the Winter Palace, the residence of the Russian tsars that was built to the design of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli in 1754-62. Collection of Hermitage museum was started by Peter the Great, but the museum itself was founded by Catherine II. In 1852 the Hermitage was opened to the public, in 1918 the bulk of the exposition was transferred to the Winter Palace. Put together throughout two centuries and a half, the Hermitage collections of works of art (over 3,000,000 items) present the development of the world culture and art from the Stone Age to the 20th century. Today the Museum is creating its digital self-portrait to be displayed around the world. Computer technologies enable the State Hermitage Museum to provide people from all over the world with wider access to information about the Museum and its treasures.

Excursion to the Saint Isaac Cathedral, 2 hours
 
The Saint Isaac Cathedral is a great example of late Classicism. It took 40 years to build it, 60 of the 440,000 construction workers died just of inhaling the mercury fumes while decora-ting the cathedral's dome with 100 kg. of pure gold. St. Isaac’s Cathedral is 101.5 m tall, it has 112 monolith columns about 114 tons each, 14,000 people can attend services held here on big religious holidays. From the dome of St. Isaac’s you can enjoy the best view of the city - the central streets, the Neva river, the Winter Palace.

Excursion to Peterhof (by hydrofoil) with excursion to the Catherine’s palace and park, 4 hours
 
Peterhof is located 29 km from Saint Petersburg. In the past, it was an exquisite summer residence for Russian tsars, world famous for its palaces and fountains just on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. It is an outstanding example of the palace architecture. There are 11 museums in Peterhof, you can visit small palaces (Cottage, Monplaisir, Marli, Hermitage, Catherine's pavillion, Bath pavillion). Nowadays, the whole complex includes the Grand Palace, the Lower and the Upper Parks with several park pavilions, 150 fountains and five monumental cascades. The Grand Palace was redesigned by B. Rastrelly, the favourite architect of Peter`s daughter, Elizabeth, in the mid 18th century. The palace keeps collections of Russian and European paintings, sculpture, furniture, porcelain and crystal ware. From the marble terrace of the Grand Palace, there is a magnificent view over the Grand Cascade, made up of waterfalls, 64 fountains and 37 statues.

Excursion to the Tsarskoye Selo with excursion to the Catherine’s palace and park, 4 hours
 
Tsarskoye Selo is a small village located 25 km from Saint Petersburg. It was a summer Residence of  the imperial family from the days of Peter the Great until the time of the last tsar, Nicolas II. The second name of residence is Puchkin (since 1918) in honour of Great Russian poet. Many Russian and foreigner films about history and governors of Russia had been turned in Tsarskoe Selo. One of main sights is a Catherine Palace.  Luxury interiors of Catherine Palace had been created by project of famous architects: Rastrelli, Kameron, Stasov, Manegetti. The collection of Palace includes many unique examples of arts and crafts furniture, porcelain, paintings, statues, personal things of the Russian emperors and members of their families. One of the most well-known interiors of the Catherine Palace is the Amber room. During excursion you`ll learn about a mysterious history of disappearance of the Amber room and will see interiors which had been recreated by professional and outstanding restores of the present. You`ll have a possibility to walk in beautiful park of Tsarkoye Selo.
